Easy like Sunday morning

Some winter weather moved into the Carolinas overnight. A little bit of snow was on the car this morning and I think some other parts of the region got some ice. Of course, winter weather in North Carolina is nothing like what I grew up with in upstate New York. Someone should tell the weatherpeople and the drivers.

I must have had a premonition yesterday that we'd get some cold and snowy weather. I was out doing some shopping and Banana Republic had marked down most of their sweaters and long sleeve heavy shirts. Silly retailers. So I got a few formerly $58 pullovers for $10 each. Something tells me they might come in handy this week. The weather was actually great on Saturday in Charlotte. Sunny all day and I had the sunroof open most of the day. I even sat outside at Dean & Deluca and read Creative Loafing and was completely comfortable.

I crashed at home in the late afternoon. I fell asleep watching the IU vs. Minnesota game and missed the Hoosiers overtime victory. Oh well. I got up in time to go out to listen to some music. There was a pretty good acoustic guitar player named Kenny Floyd at the Flying Saucer. Never heard an acoustic medley that started out with "Play Guitar" and along the way threw in some Ja Rule, "Gin and Juice," and a little Sir Mix-A-Lot. I stayed there for a while and then headed over to Stool Pigeons to meet up with some friends. The band there was terrible and it really takes a lot for me to say that. After a while I decided to call it a night and head home.

I guess it was good I had a pretty relaxing Saturday because today I have a lot of items to make some progress on. I have some minor EM Fest things to take care of and I really need to finish my latest book review for Boxes & Arrows. Plus a couple of minor things around the house. I guess I'm glad the weather is ugly after all.
